What is Pope Francis hiding? The girl disappeared in 1983 & last year on June 22, the thirtieth anniversary of her disappearance the Pope disappears as well!

Pope Francis refused to show his face in public on the night when a candle light vigil and procession was held in the streets of Rome commemorating the thirtieth year anniversary of the girl's disappearance.

The Pope was to appear in public at a concert held in his honor. He was a no show:

(Reuters) - A last-minute no-show by Pope Francis at a concert where he was to have been the guest of honor has sent another clear signal that he is going to do things his way and does not like the Vatican high life. 

The gala classical concert on Saturday was scheduled before his election in March. But the white papal armchair set up in the presumption that he would be there remained empty. 

Minutes before the concert was due to start, an archbishop told the crowd of cardinals and Italian dignitaries that an "urgent commitment that cannot be postponed" would prevent Francis from attending. 

The prelates, assured that health was not the reason for the no-show, looked disoriented, realizing that the message he wanted to send was that, with the Church in crisis, he - and perhaps they - had too much pastoral work to do to attend social events. 

"It took us by surprise," said one Vatican source on Monday. "We are still in a period of growing pains. He is still learning how to be pope and we are still learning how he wants to do it." 

"In Argentina, they probably knew not to arrange social events like concerts for him because he probably wouldn't go," said the source, who spoke anonymously because he is not authorized to discuss the issue. 

The picture of the empty chair was used in many Italian papers, with Monday's Corriere della Sera newspaper calling his decision "a show of force" to illustrate the simple style he wants Church officials to embrace. 

Since his election on March 13, Francis, the former cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina, has not spent a single night in the opulent and spacious papal apartments. 

He has preferred to live in a small suite in a busy Vatican guest house, where he takes most meals in a communal dining room and says Mass every morning in the house chapel rather than the private papal chapel in the Apostolic Palace. 

The day before the concert, Francis said bishops should be "close to the people" and not have "the mentality of a prince".

Where was the pope on that night? Sulking in his humble apartment? Hiding himself?

The pope has this to say about his disappearing act:

"I am not a Renaissance Prince who listens to music instead of working."

Working? On what? On something that could not wait for a couple of hours?

Possible explanations:

On 24 June 2013, Pope Francis created a Pontifical Commission, often referred to as the CRIOR commission, to review the IOR's status and activities. Its task was to "gather accurate information on the legal status and various activities of the Institute to permit, when necessary, a better harmonization of the said Institute with the universal mission of the Apostolic See". On 28 June 2013, three persons were arrested by the Italian police on suspicion of corruption and fraud. Allegedly, they had planned to smuggle €20 million in cash from Switzerland into Italy. One of the arrested was Monsignore Nunzio Scarano, previously senior accountant at APSA, the Vatican's Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See. Subsequently, he was indicted with corruption and slander and set under house arrest.Wikipedia

Was the pope working on the Pontifical Commission? Or was the pope informed on the doings of Scarano?

Either way the pope could have made his public appearance without any interference in his decision making, and he would have not caused such a scandal. Was the pope really that concerned about his "work" that if he didn't attend to it right there and then a greater scandal would follow?

Bullshit to that I say.

Pope Francis had no concern about causing scandal to hundreds of those in attendance waiting to see him at the concert held in his honor!

Come on now. Let me ask you something - if hundreds of people held an event in your honor and expected you to show up what would you do?  Not show?

So the pope has another reason for hiding that night.

Now a year later on the 31st anniversary of Emanuela Orlandi's disappearance what does Pope Francis do?

The friends and family attended the Pope's Angelus hoping that Francis might say something.

He didn't.

So the pope communicates with the Jews and demands justice be done. But the Pope refuses to communicate with the family of a girl who was kidnapped off the streets of Rome 31 years ago - how come Pope Francis refuses to come to the aid of a Roman Catholic family? Does the pope not know how to communicate with his flock?
