SECURITY ZONES, FENCE, MORE ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR POPE VISIT TO PHILADELPHIA

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Mayor Michael Nutter confirmed a fence will be constructed around security perimeters in Philadelphia for Pope Francis' visit next month. Those announcements came during a news conference where the mayor also addressed everything from school closures, to taxi service, to announcements for residents and business owners. Two terms introduced during a news conference on Thursday afternoon were "Security Perimeter" and "Secure Vehicle Perimeter." Security Perimeters are being established around the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Independence Mall, where Francis is expected to address large crowds. The Security Perimeters will be surrounded by a fence that will have entry points with a magnetometer. Vehicles will need to be removed from the Security Perimeter.
